Boundary Disputes

Boundary disputes usually arise at the same time as a potential adverse possession claim, although they can also be a separate matter. They are common within commercial, residential and agricultural land.

Boundary disputes, despite the size of the area of land in question, can be a complex affair and will require the use of a qualified surveyor to establish the exact position of the boundary. We would advise that this happens as soon as possible, especially in neighbour disputes as it is useful to avoid a long, bitter and expensive dispute which will affect your living situation in the future.

These disputes can be very emotional for all involved and we understand that a careful and sympathetic approach is needed. We also understand the need to try and resolve these matters quickly and cost effectively and will provide advice as to the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
