The team at Dutton Gregory are really proud to announce another hugely successful year for the firm in the Legal 500 rankings.

The Legal 500 is an independent directory that ranks the top lawyers and law firms across the world. The directory is based on both client and peer recognition.

This year the firm has achieved success and recognition in 4 departments, Commercial Litigation (in both the South East and South West Regions), Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate, Family and Employment. All four departments have retained their place in the rankings for another year in recognition of their knowledge, skill and client care.

The Family Team have again been recognised as a tier 2 firm, with Jon Whettingsteel, Head of Family, also being individually ranked as a ‘Leading Partner’ and described in one testimonial as “Fantastic. A brilliant, personable approach to clients, not a stuffy ‘lawyer’ type. Pragmatic and realistic.”

Jon, Head of Family, said;

“Retaining our tier 2 ranking as a department for the second consecutive year, especially amongst such a high calibre of other local firms and lawyers is a testament to the exceptional team we have at Dutton Gregory. It has been another fantastic year, and we’ve handled some really complex cases, and achieved some great results for clients. This is only possible because of the client-focused approach the team take, and also because of the kind comments and testimonials we received from clients and professional contacts we work with. Thank you to everyone that helped in supporting our application.”

Andrew Witt, Head of the Commercial Litigation Team, was recognised in both the South East and South West regions, for his, “skill in both litigation and NCDR process and is capable of work at a domestic and cross-boarded scope“.

The Employment team ranked for the first time in Legal 500, with Darren Tibble and Louis Howlett mentioned within the rankings and Daryl Cowan continuing to be recognised and ranked as a ‘Leading Partner’. The team were described as, “knowledgeable and professional”, and were also recognised for their approachability and client communication. A client testimonial stated, “On one occasion, our case worker was away, and another colleague took on the responsibility for the week without any break in service or level of competence”, and another shared, “They are empathetic and, at the same time, focused on finding the very best, most effective (and cost-effective) solution for clients.”

Emily Taylor, Head of the Wills, Trusts and Estate planning team, is proud to see the team ranked in legal 500 and said, “This shows the firm and departments commitment to excellence.”
