About Andrew

Andrew Witt is a Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution, which means he has spent more than three decades helping clients deal with difficult, urgent and often unavoidable disputes

Having qualified as a solicitor in 1993, he has built a reputation for clear judgement, commercial focus and knowing when a situation needs firm action, careful negotiation, or both

Andrew acts for businesses, directors, shareholders, partners, insolvency practitioners and individuals involved in commercial disputes. His work includes corporate and shareholder disputes, partnership fallouts, insolvency litigation, breach of warranty claims and injunctions. He is particularly valued when the dispute is complicated, urgent or already heading rapidly in the wrong direction.

His approach is commercial, pragmatic and firmly focused on the result. Andrew believes that clients should understand their options, know what the likely cost will be and have a clear strategy from the outset. Sometimes that means issuing proceedings and pursuing them robustly. Sometimes it means finding a sensible deal before everyone spends more on the argument than the argument is worth.

Andrew is also an accredited mediator and a member of the firm’s Strategy Board. As a mediator, he helps people reach agreements they had previously devoted considerable time and money to insisting were impossible.

As a litigator, he remains a committed supporter of mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, although he is equally comfortable going to court where that is the right course.

Exemplary from start to finish!

Keep doing what you're doing!
