This course is for those new to employment law or those with limited experience.
It includes presentations and short case studies on, for example:
- Forming the employment relationship
- Employee status; employee rights
- Employee obligations
- Discrimination in the workplace
- Statutory dismissal and grievance procedures
- Terminating the employment relationship; redundancy and dismissal issues
- Employment Tribunal procedure.
This update is for those with some exposure to employment law and personnel matters who need to be up to date in their understanding of topical issues.

- Recent cases on grievance and disciplinary procedures
- Part-time workers and the most recent working time cases
- Employment status; and recent cases on unfair dismissal
This course provides a more in-depth analysis of key subjects included in the Annual Update, exploring them in more detail shortly before or after their introduction. This course is the one most often tailored to provide bespoke training for clients.
