About Mark

Mark is a Partner and Solicitor within our Employment team, which is led by Darren Tibble.

Having passed out of Bar School in 1991 and co-qualified as a Solicitor in 1997, Mark has vast experience in employment law.

Mark’s qualifications include a BA (Hons). He is a Fellow of the RSA, a CIPD affiliate and a Kitchener Scholar. He holds a mini MBA.

Why A Career In Law?

Mark chose a career in law because it makes a difference to people's lives, presents a never-ending intellectual challenge, and develops skills, pathways and ongoing education that few other jobs provide.

As the John Milton character says in The Devil’s Advocate "...the law my boy, puts us into everything. It’s the ultimate backstage pass."

A Successful Day

For Mark, a successful day is one where good, positive progress on client matters is achieved; where a client feels that they have received value beyond the price tag, and where we made a real difference to someone's day, someone's business, someone's life.

Why Dutton Gregory?

Mark chooses to work for Dutton Gregory because, despite its five-fold growth, the firm continues to hold onto its warm, friendly and professional culture.

“Clients often comment on that friendliness, and the extra value we try to give them, answering the questions they didn’t ask as well as those they did.”

A Historical Trial That Mark Would Have Liked To Have Attended

Mark would have liked to have attended any trial that involved Lord Denning.

Mark says, “Denning is often said to have been ‘the best-known and best loved judge in our history’. His judgments shaped the law in so many ways, from misrepresentation, to privity of contract, to PTSD, pure economic loss, union fees and even the legal rights of children. It would have been fascinating to have watched that”.

Mark's knowledge and experience on employment law matters is outstanding.

As a client, Mark listened carefully and communicated clearly to me at all times.

I was particularly grateful for Mark's down to earth approach and his effort into providing a successful resolution.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Mark to anyone who needs assistance.

This was required at short notice and with pace. Mark was very quick to reply to every contact, at times at unsociable hours, whilst always remaining thorough in his responses.
