The results for the Legal 500 for 2026 are in. The Family, Medical Negligence and Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning teams at Dutton Gregory have kept their position from the previous directory.
Jonathan Whettingsteel, Head of the Family team, says ‘I am incredibly proud of the Dutton Gregory Family team in being recognised as a tier 2 family department. Each year we have moved up the rankings which is a testament to how the team continues to go from strength to strength. The team are being recognised as industry leaders in family law due to their high level of expertise, knowledge and client service and care. It was a particular highlight to be described as ‘a young dynamic team’ which is a great description as I know we have much more we want to achieve.’
As well as heading up the team Jon has been personally recognised as a ‘Leading Partner’ moving up the rankings from a ‘Next Generation Partner’ last year which is a great testament to his work both individually and as part of the team.
Emily Taylor, Head of the Wills, Trusts & estate Planning Team said ‘I am delighted to see our Wills, Trusts & Estate Planning Department be included in the Legal 500 as Firms to Watch. The department has gone from strength to strength over the last few years and I am looking forward to seeing what we will achieve next year. I am proud to lead an extremely talented diverse team who continue to service our clients and the community across the nation.’
The Commercial Litigation team has gone from ‘One to Watch’ to taking an official place in the latest rankings.
Andrew Witt, Head of Litigation, states “This is a testament to the team and their dedication and hard work”
New to this year’s ranking is the Employment team which has entered the listings, being mentioned as ‘One to Watch.’
Darren Tibble, Head of Employment, said “I am absolutely delighted that the Employment Team has been recognised by The Legal 500 for the first time – and to be named as a ‘Team to Watch’ makes the achievement even more special. It reflects the recent journey we’ve been on, from myself and Daryl Cowan joining the team last year to Charlie Keast qualifying into the team in June this year. This recognition belongs to every member of the team and to our clients and contacts, whose trust and feedback has been invaluable. We’re very proud of how far we have come in such a short space of time – but we are even more excited about what’s still to come, not least with a further expansion to the team with Louis Howlett joining us this month as a Senior Associate to strengthen the team even further.”
These achievements reflect the dedication, expertise and client focused approach that define Dutton Gregory. As we celebrate this recognition, we remain committed to delivering exceptional legal services and continuing to build on this success in the year ahead.
