    About Rachel

    With 20 years’ experience in law,13 years of which at Dutton Gregory, Rachel McRae is a trusted specialist in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection and Estate Administration.

    Her journey into law wasn’t a straight line, she began as an office junior after college, then stepped into a secretary role, and soon found herself immersed in the profession. While she “fell into law” by chance, she stayed because of the people. 

    For Rachel, helping clients through some of life’s most sensitive and significant moments is more than a career, it’s a calling. 

    What Drew Rachael to Law?

    Rachel has explored many areas of law, but Wills and Estate Planning kept drawing her back.  She loves to build relationships with clients over, solving problems, and “oddly enough”, the paperwork. “I love to talk to people,” she says, and this area of law allows her to do exactly that while making a tangible difference in her clients’ lives. 

    The Rewarding Side of the Role 

    Whether supporting someone recently bereaved, guiding a family through planning for the future, or simplifying complex legal matters, Rachel finds fulfilment in lifting burdens. 

    Clients often arrive anxious or unsure and leave reassured: “I love when someone says they were dreading coming to see me but leaves feeling happier and lighter.” 

    Outside the Office 

    Away from the legal world, Rachel is an avid reader; she owns every book by Kathy Reichs, devours Gregg Hurwitz’s Orphan X series, and treasures Richard Osman’s Thursday Murder Club. 

    Books, she says, are her perfect way to switch off after a day of supporting clients.
