Kaylee Moret is a Solicitor within our Dispute Resolution team, which is led by Andrew Witt.

Kaylee Moret came to law by the traditional route of watching Legally Blonde and Liar Liar, then discovering, to her apparent surprise, that real dispute resolution involves fewer courtroom speeches, fewer dramatic confessions and considerably more correspondence. Undeterred, she went on to build a proper career in it, qualifying as a solicitor in 2023 after more than ten years’ experience as a paralegal.

Now a solicitor in Dutton Gregory’s Litigation team in Chandler’s Ford, Kaylee deals with contract disputes, commercial disputes and consumer rights issues, which is to say she spends much of her working life helping people untangle problems they would rather not have had in the first place. Before joining Dutton Gregory in 2023, she worked in debt recovery, spent seven years as a paralegal in the commercial litigation team of a national law firm, and also completed a secondment with a recruitment company before starting her training contract.

What Kaylee particularly likes about dispute resolution is that no two cases are the same. This is fortunate, because clients rarely arrive with neat facts, tidy paperwork and a problem that has thoughtfully arranged itself into a single legal issue. Kaylee brings organisation, clear communication and a practical approach to helping clients work out what has happened, what matters, and what to do next.

For her, a successful day might involve a settlement, a successful hearing, or simply giving a client the advice they need to make a sensible decision and move their matter forward. She finds the work rewarding because it allows her to help clients through stressful situations while steadily pushing the matter towards resolution, preferably before anyone has lost the will to live.

Looking ahead, Kaylee wants to continue developing as a trusted adviser in litigation. She also intends to retain a healthy balance between a rewarding career, family life, travel and the people she loves, which is ambitious, admirable and probably the hardest dispute she will ever have to resolve.
