Why A Career In Law?
Beverley wanted to use her problem-solving skills to impact and improve people's day to day lives, so she pursued a career in law.
Beverley specialises in Landlord and Tenant Law because housing is a fundamental aspect of everyone’s life, and she enjoys navigating the complex regulations to provide actionable solutions for her clients.
A Successful Day
For Beverley, a successful day is one where she has helped her clients and left them feeling heard, protected, and clear on their next steps.
Beverley ensures this by being organised, comprehensively preparing for each individual client’s matter, and approaching each conversation with active listening and empathy.
Rewarding Elements
Beverley says: “The most rewarding element of my role is providing clarity and relief to clients who are often navigating highly stressful and emotional housing disputes.”
Breaking down complex property regulations into practical solutions and ultimately helping clients achieve a fair outcome is something that Beverley finds incredibly fulfilling.
A Historical Trial That Beverley Would Have Liked To Have Attended
Beverley outlines that she would have loved to have been involved in the landmark case of Street vs Mountford (1985): “it fundamentally reshaped Landlord and Tenant Law by clearly defining the essential characteristics of a tenancy versus a license.”
Being part of a case that established such a critical legal framework for housing rights would have been fascinating for Beverley.
