Why A Career In Law?

Alice was drawn to law because she enjoys solving problems and helping people navigate difficult situations.

“From an early stage, I was interested in how legal issues often sit at the heart of important personal and business decisions. I liked the combination of commercial, analytical and strategic thinking and working closely with clients to achieve practical outcomes.”

Alice chose to specialise in commercial litigation because she finds disputes intellectually challenging, where no two cases are ever the same.

“Whilst a strong understanding of the law is essential, successful commercial dispute resolution is often about much more than legal principles alone. It requires an appreciation of a client's wider commercial objectives, attitude to risk and the practical realities facing their business.”

Alice enjoys working with clients to understand what success looks like for them, whether that is securing a swift commercial settlement, protecting valuable business relationships or pursuing a claim through the courts.

Most importantly, Alice enjoys helping businesses and individuals find a clear path forward during what can often be a stressful and uncertain period.

Supporting Clients

Alice understands that disputes can be stressful, time-consuming and often distracting for clients who are trying to run a business or deal with important personal matters.

“For me, providing peace of mind starts with understanding what is most important to the client and ensuring they feel supported throughout the process. I believe clear and honest communication is key.”

Alice takes the time to explain legal issues in straightforward terms, outlining the options available and providing practical advice so that clients can make informed decisions with confidence.

Rewarding Elements

Alice finds the most rewarding element of her role to be helping clients find a way forward during what is often a challenging and uncertain time.

“When clients become involved in a dispute, they are frequently dealing with financial, commercial or personal pressures, and being able to guide them through that process and provide clarity is incredibly satisfying.”

Alice enjoys the strategic nature of commercial litigation and the challenge of developing solutions to complex problems.

“Every case is different, requiring a combination of legal analysis, commercial awareness and practical judgment to achieve the best outcome for the client.”

Alice also finds building trusted relationships with clients and seeing the positive impact that effective advice can have to be incredibly rewarding.

Looking To The Future

In 15 years’ time, Alice hopes to be recognised as a leading trusted adviser to clients, known not only for her legal expertise but also for providing practical, commercially focused advice that helps businesses achieve their objectives.

“I would also like to continue developing my practice, building long-term client relationships and taking on greater leadership responsibilities.”

Alice also enjoys mentoring and supporting junior colleagues, so hopes to play an active role in helping the next generation of Lawyers develop their careers.
