Sara Gilak

Sara Gilak is a Senior Associate Family Solicitor in our Bournemouth office, who joined Dutton Gregory in August 2022 from a local firm where she practiced for over 15 years, having qualified in 2009. She graduated from Kings College London in 2005 with an LLB Law Degree and then went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at Bournemouth University. Sara is also a long term member of Resolution.

Sara specialises in all aspects of Family Law having experience in representing clients in contentious and non-contentious matters, including divorce and separation, finances within matrimonial proceedings, Schedule 1 Children Act proceedings and Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustees proceedings. Sara also represents clients in relation to private children matters to include Child Arrangement Orders and Special Guardianship Applications. 

Sara assists clients with pre-planning their financial relationships with their spouse and/or partner by negotiating, advising and drafting Cohabitation Agreements and Pre/Post Nuptial Agreements.  She has years of experience and expertise in representing client’s in protective orders to include Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders.

Sara prides herself on providing clients with precise and pragmatic advice and representation empowering her clients’ throughout the legal process, a process which will ultimately have a significant impact upon the clients’ future. Sara is very personable as well as professional resulting in a strong solicitor/ client relationship as well as enabling Sara to negotiate with the other side where appropriate and represent the client’s case effectively within proceedings.

Outside of the office, Sara has two young daughters who keep her extremely busy and provide her with the excuse to attend Farmer Palmers on a regular basis. She also likes to keep fit and is gearing up to re-join boot camp.
