James Leach is a solicitor in our Family Team, joining Dutton Gregory Solicitors in 2016.
Upon joining the firm, James initially worked in the Landlord and Tenant Department where he gained particular expertise in block management and long leasehold. James then began his training contract with the firm in March 2018 and undertook seats in Litigation (Property and Commercial), Private Client, Contentious Probate and Family, developing a well-rounded understanding across these areas.
James qualified into the Family team in March 2020, and undertakes work in all aspects of family law, including private children proceedings, divorce and matrimonial finance and injunctions.
James also has a particular specialism in claims under both the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 and the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
Prior to working at Dutton Gregory, James gained experience in general property litigation working at a firm in Brighton. James also undertook two internships abroad, with the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda based in Tanzania, and the Cambodian Center for Human Rights in Phnom Penh.
Outside of work, James enjoys sport, especially football and boxing, as well as music and travelling.
