Winners announced of the Venus Awards Dorset

Dubbed the “Working Women’s Oscars” by Channel 4 and now in its seventh year in Dorset, the Venus Awards goes from strength-to-strength in discovering and recognising the talents of enterprising women in our midst.

Competition was fierce this year with 785 nominations and applications across the 15 Award categories in Dorset and with 1009 votes cast in the public vote category of Business Mother of the Year.

The Awards ceremony, held at the Bournemouth International Centre, was hosted by Tara Howard, Founder of the Venus Awards, and Paul Kinvig, Business Coach with Aspirin Business Solutions and consummate presenter, chair and speaker for regional and national Awards ceremonies.

A first for the Dorset Venus Awards was the voting by assembled guests for the three Finalists of the Fizz Benefits Musical Talent Award, which added an extra element of excitement on the night.

Over 400 guests soaked up the evening’s atmosphere as they enjoyed a delicious three course meal that kept everyone in high-spirits. When presenting the “Venus” trophy to their category winner each Sponsor emphasised the high calibre of their Finalists.

Sue Murphy, Head of Business Development and Marketing at Dutton Gregory, who are now in their sixth year of supporting the Venus Awards, says of the Awards Ceremony and their sponsorship of the Small Business of the Year Award,

"All the team at Dutton Gregory had an amazing evening at the biggest Dorset Venus Awards celebration ever!  So many influential people in the room sharing their journeys and success stories with us.  It's a great way of celebrating and recognising people with an audience who understand what it has taken to get to the pinnacle event and stand victorious on the winner's podium!"

Dutton Gregory sponsored the Small Business Category on the evening and is delighted to announce the winner was Hollie Power of Forever Gorgeous based at the Queens Hotel in Bournemouth.
