India Business Group
Amarjit heads up the India Business Group and is part of a team that specialises in dealing with a range of commercial issues. The Group facilitates inbound and outbound business opportunities between the UK and India markets.
Amarjit is Co-Chairman of the Solent India Business Network, an independent not-for-profit company, aimed at strengthening bilateral trade relations between the Solent region and India.
He is also an advisory board member to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Entrepreneurship, an Executive Council Member to the Global Legal & Economic Development Council (GLEDCON), headquartered in Delhi, and a member of UKTI's global Catalyst Network.
Amarjit is at the forefront of building and strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between the UK and India, and works with a range of key stakeholders. He has participated in several trade missions to India.
By way of a sign-post as to his standing, Amarjit was delighted to receive the award of Solicitor of the Year 2011 at the prestigious Asia Diaspora Achievers Awards.
He is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi.
Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Amarjit is an assistant solicitor in the commercial litigation and dispute resolution team at Dutton Gregory LLP (Southampton Office). He graduated from the University of Southampton in 2003 with a BSc in politics and law and completed his Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford. He trained with Dutton Gregory and qualified as a solicitor in 2006.
Amarjit specialises in commercial litigation and advises on a range of issues to include contractual disputes, professional negligence claims, insurance litigation and debt recovery. He adopts a practical and commercially aware approach to his work.
Outside of work, Amarjit is active in his local community and works with individuals and groups from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. He has a particular interest in promoting equality, diversity and social cohesion.
