Tier 2 Sponsorship: CoS Allowance Update

  • Posted

This year some sponsors qualify for an automated renewal of their allocations of Certificates of Sponsorship. The Home Office should notify your Authorising Officer if you are eligible for this: check for any emails received, including in spam or junk folders, to avoid missing the good news!

You should also double-check the Sponsor Management System to see if you have received your CoS allocation automatically. As a matter of good practice, the Home Office recommends that you check the SMS monthly.

If you think you will need more CoS than an automatic allocation allows for, you will need to use the SMS to apply for more.

If you do not qualify for automatic allocation then you have until 5 April 2015 to submit your request for CoS for the period 6 April 2015 – 5 April 2016. It is advisable to submit your request as early as possible, to ensure continuity after any existing CoS expire on 5 April. Consult the current version of the Policy Guidance so that you understand the requirements.
