We are looking for an Employment Solicitor (or team) to join any of our offices on either a full-time or part-time basis.  You will have established contacts from which to generate new business and must be very confident to bring your own following of clients.  You will need to demonstrate experience in employment related matters such as employee relations, unfair dismissal, redundancy, discrimination, contract disputes, restrictive covenants, and employment issues arising on company mergers, sales and acquisitions.  A proven track record of commercial awareness and enthusiasm for business development are essential.

We are looking for a fee earner to join our Landlord and Tenant team, who have grown to become one of the country’s leading providers of support, advice and claims handling within residential lettings. The role will focus on landlord and tenant work and necessitates the ability to handle a significant volume of landlord and tenant cases at all stages.

Due to the nature of the work, the position would suit an NQ Solicitor in Litigation, with experience of Property Litigation, or a Legal Executive or Paralegal with at least five years Landlord & Tenant experience.  The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, highly developed communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to work independently and also part of a team. A confident telephone manner is essential.

We are looking for a Solicitor to join our Commercial Litigation team who has gained a high level of experience and knowledge from handling their own mixed caseload of contentious probate and commercial litigation work for a minimum of two years post qualification.  The successful candidate will be responsible for building on an existing caseload in contentious probate and related matters, and commercial litigation for a range of businesses.  Areas of expertise should include advising and representing clients in actions involving disputed wills, proprietary estoppel claims, Inheritance Act claims and disputes relating to breaches of duty by executors and trustees, along with general commercial litigation for businesses including insolvency related matters in both the corporate and personal spheres.  You must be able to demonstrate good training throughout your career and have an enthusiasm for business development.

We are looking for a Corporate & Commercial Solicitor who has handled their own caseload of co/co work for a minimum of ten years post qualification.  Founded on many years’ experience of successful work for corporate and other business clients, the existing team have a confident, sound and imaginative approach and are looking to add to their team.  You will have established contacts from which to generate new business and must be confident to bring your own following of clients.  You should be able to demonstrate extensive experience and a skill set in handling complex commercial work.  A proven track record of commercial awareness, an enthusiasm for business development, and first-rate negotiating and problem solving skills are essential.

We are looking for a Commercial Property Solicitor to join our Winchester based team.  You will be acting for a wide range of clients working on various transactions including the acquisition and disposal of both leasehold and freehold property and development related matters.  You will be joining a team that prides itself on excellent technical and negotiating skills and which manages and drives successful transactions on all types of property including offices, retail, leisure, licensed premises and agricultural.  The successful candidate will have experience of handling a general mix of good quality commercial property work and will be technically excellent, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development.

Trainee Solicitors

Dutton Gregory LLP is committed to training and developing the new generation of solicitors and aim to recruit at least two trainees each year.  In considering applications we take into account academic achievement and therefore look for candidates with a 2:1 degree who have either completed or are about to complete the LPC.  We also look for candidates who are committed to a career in the profession and who have an interest in living and working locally.  We place great importance on good interpersonal skills in the workplace, an interest in providing excellence in client care and expect our trainees to show intellectual acuity, practical common sense and an ability to find creative solutions.

Student Work experience 2013

We support local schools, sixth form colleges and law graduates with work placements at our Winchester, Bournemouth and Southampton offices.

Work experience opportunities are limited and in high demand.  Please be aware that we only accept applications for a three month period between 1st January and 31st March each year for placements in that same year.
