The main duties include typing a high volume of reports, letters and other documents such as the preparation of papers for court so you will need copy and audio typing speeds of at least 60 wpm. Diary management, filing and fielding calls from clients and experts are also an important part of the role so you'll need a professional telephone manner and a calm, unflappable nature. Experience using digital dictation would be an advantage as the firm has the 'BigHand' system in most of its offices. Previous experience working in a medical environment may be an advantage for the post in Clinical Negligence and previous experience gained in a Family department may be an advantage for the Family posts. From time to time, the Firm uses the services of temporary secretarial staff to cover sickness absence and holidays and periods when we are exceptionally busy. If you are an experienced Legal Secretary with typing speeds in excess of 60 wpm and are available to work for us from time to time, the Human Resources Manager would like to hear from you.
